A Marshall Islands-flagged product tanker managed by a Greek company has been damaged in an attack in the Arabian Gulf. One crew member was killed, the vessel's manager has confirmed. The attack took place about 50 nautical miles north of Qatar. The Maritime Executive reported.

UKMTO reported that the tanker was hit by two unidentified projectiles at around 23:20 UTC on November 4. The explosion caused a fire onboard, which the crew managed to put out. No other crew members were injured, and no pollution was reported.

The vessel was identified as Velos Sapphire, built in 2007. It was sailing empty towards Bahrain at the time of the attack. The missing seafarer was later found dead onboard. The tanker was taken to Bahrain's Khalifa Bin Salman Port, where the damage is being assessed.
