China has reached another milestone in cruise ship construction after floating out its second domestically built large cruise vessel, Adora Flora City, The Maritime Telegraph reports. The ship will undergo sea trials in late May and is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026, with Guangzhou planned as its homeport.

Built at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding under China State Shipbuilding Corporation, the 341-meter vessel is a larger follow-up to Adora Magic City. It will feature 2,130 cabins and accommodate up to 5,232 passengers, alongside expanded leisure areas including restaurants, retail zones, wellness spaces, and family facilities.

The project highlights China’s broader push to grow its cruise shipbuilding capability and strengthen its marine economy, which reached roughly 11 trillion yuan in 2025. Additional large cruise ship projects are already planned as the country continues investing in maritime tourism and advanced ship construction capacity.
