From Batumi to global careers: Alpha Navigation inspires the next generation

Alpha Navigation Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University

Alpha Navigation’s Founder and President, Bogdan Zelenski, visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University on October 15 to share his experience with students and discuss career opportunities in the maritime industry.

The session covered more than crew management. Bogdan introduced students to the work that keeps global shipping moving behind the scenes, discussed the importance of leadership, and explained how to prepare for a job interview. He also spoke about career paths that can take young professionals from Batumi to the international maritime industry. Another important topic was the growing role of digital skills and artificial intelligence in crewing. As technology changes the way the industry works, students need to understand how the industry is evolving and which skills will help them succeed in the future.

For Alpha Navigation, meetings like this are about more than sharing knowledge. They are about supporting young people as they take their first steps toward a professional career. Every experienced maritime specialist was once a beginner looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and prove themselves.

Some of the students in the room may become tomorrow’s crewing specialists, team leaders, or colleagues at Alpha Navigation. Others may build careers across the wider maritime industry. Whatever path they choose, we hope this meeting gave them practical ideas, greater confidence, and a clearer picture of what they can achieve. The future of crew management depends on people: their skills, decisions, and willingness to keep learning. That future starts with the opportunities we help create for the next generation.
